Ikhana Tips Falconets To Lift World Cup

Super Falcons coach KadiriIkhana has tipped the Falconets to win the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan if they step up their game.

Ikhana said the girls have done very well in the group stages but warned that they need to redouble their efforts and tactics to actualise their target of winning the trophy.

“The team should change their approach by playing a more organized game and put pressure on their opponents from start to finish. I am optimistic the girls can go all the way if they give it their best shot.

“I am saying this because I know the girls and what they are capable of doing when they decide to play,” the former Eagles defender stated.

On the quarter-final duel against Mexico, Ikhana said Falconets would win easily if they do not become complacent, adding that the Mexicans are very physical and should not be allowed to dictate the pace of the game. He said aside from Nigeria, host nation Japan, DPR Korea, Germany and USA are also good enough to win the cup.
